ENROLMENT INFORMATION
When should I apply?
We accept applications any time after birth. Early applications are advisable as our waitlist is largely prioritised by the date of application.
My son is not catholic; can we still apply?
Whilst preference is given to baptised Catholics, non-Catholic applicants are welcome to apply. All offers of enrolment are made at the discretion of the Principal.
What documents are required as part of the enrolment process (application and interview stages)?
- Completed Application for Enrolment form signed by both parents. A non-refundable Application for Enrolment fee of $110 is payable at the time of application.
- Copy of your child’s birth certificate and certified translation if necessary.
- If your child was born in Australia, but you were both born overseas, please submit evidence of Australian Citizenship, such as an Australian Citizenship Certificate or Australian Passport.
- Copy of your child’s Australian Visa paperwork (if applicable).
- Copy of the information page of your child’s passport if they were born overseas.
- Copies of your child’s two most recent school reports, translated into English (if applicable).
- Copy of your child’s NAPLAN results (Years 3 to 9 if educated in Australia) or similar standardised test results from overseas.
- Certificate of English fluency for students for whom English is an additional language
How many students are accepted into the intake for Year 7?
Approximately 200 students are accepted into Year 7
How many students are accepted into the intake for Year 5?
Approximately 56 students are accepted into Year 5
Does my son have to attend an interview?
The enrolment interview is an important part of the enrolment process as it is an opportunity for us to get to know your son, for you to learn more about St Edmund’s College, and to discuss any questions or requirements you may have. Students are interviewed by our Principal or a member of the College Leadership Team.
Do I need to put an enrolment application in for Year 5 and Year 7?
No. You just need to submit One application. If you are unsuccessful in gaining a Year 5 position, your information will be held on file for the Year 7 intake. Enrolments will contact you before we commence this process.
What is the College’s catchment area?
The College does not have a catchment area and accepts applications from students at all schools.

COLLEGE FEES
LEARNING AND TEACHING
What facilities will Years 5 and 6 access?
We are a well-resourced and long-established school with excellent facilities. Our Year 5 and 6 students will have their lessons in newly completed, airconditioned and purpose-designed classrooms on our campus at 16 Mary Street, Woodend.
They will also be able to learn in specialist rooms for science, art, drama and music and will have a dedicated play area. Additionally, our tuckshop, The Chandlery (our library), swimming pool, sports centre and sporting fields will be used by our Junior School students.
Will the Junior School students access the Secondary School facilities?
Yes, as a school that caters to boys from Years 5 to 12 all our facilities are for the use of all our students. These will include among others, specialist classrooms, The Chandlery (our library), creative art spaces, our swimming pool, sporting fields and nearby green spaces.
Will leadership opportunities be available for Junior School students?
Yes. Students in Years 5 and 6 will have access to a range of leadership opportunities, both within their core class groups and across the Junior School and throughout our pastoral and leadership programs.
Will the Years 5 and 6 students have much interaction with the secondary school students?
Yes. Although the Junior School will be distinct from the secondary school, the Years 5 and 6 students will interact with the secondary students in Pastoral/House groups, assemblies and sporting and co-curricular activities.
They will also have opportunities to interact and work with older students under the supervision of pastoral teachers.
How will you manage age-appropriate comments from the older students?
Situations where younger students can interact with older students will be supervised e.g homeroom, sports days, assemblies etc.
We cannot guarantee what students will or will not hear in any given situation. We have high expectations about behaviour and work with all our young men to be respectful and mindful around younger students.
Should parents have any concerns, we would encourage them to contact the Director of Junior Schooling or their son’s Pastoral Dean.
If my son if smart will he be pushed harder with extension learning?
There are currently programs in Years 5-12 that caters to extending high-performing students.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Do you have After School Care?
The College does not provide After School Care at this time.
Will my son be supervised if he arrives early or is picked up later in the afternoon?
There is no before or after-school care available. Staff are on duty from 8:00 am until school commences and after school until 3:15 pm. The Chandlery (the Library) is open until 3:30 pm (Monday and Friday) and 4:00 pm (Tuesday - Thursday).

PARENT ENGAGEMENT AND INFORMATION
Will parents have an opportunity to engage with the College? How will we meet other parents?
We encourage parental engagement. We believe in the Eddies' Team, parents and caregivers, staff and students all creating the environment where our young men can have the best opportunity to succeed. Our partnership with parents and caregivers greatly enriches our College community.
You will be able to connect with other families through a variety of social and informational events.
Will parents be able to assist in the classrooms?
While there will be limited opportunities for parental involvement in Junior School classrooms, parents will be encouraged to participate in their son’s schooling and the Eddies' community through the Parent & Friends Association, community events and other volunteering opportunities.
Will events and engagement opportunities such as P&F meetings be open to all parents across the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools?
Yes, engagement through the Parent & Friends Association is open to all parents. There are also community events that occur during the year that parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend.
