Identity
At St Edmund’s College, we live the call to be strong, kind, gentle Eddies Men every day.
St Edmund’s College is proudly a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition. We build on the profound impact and influence that the Christian Brothers have had in Australia for more than 150 years.
Inspired by the example of Jesus and as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, all in our community are welcome and invited to faithfulness and transformation. A place where we are called to live simply and make a difference. This is the expression of our faith in the world today.
Being an Eddies Man means more than just learning in the classroom. It’s about growing into a global citizen. Guided by the four (4) core EREA touchstones of Liberating Education, Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community and Justice and Solidarity at St Edmund’s you will discover new experiences and open your heart and mind to a world beyond yourself.
Prayers, Masses and Liturgies, retreats and Immersion programs are all part of this journey. Inviting students to connect deeply with their faith and wider community in discovering a deeper sense of self.
Our young men step up as leaders in service. They give their time to support the homeless, visit the elderly, care for the sick and protect the environment. These real experiences help them develop empathy, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility, guided by a ministry of presence that respects the inherent dignity of the human person.
At Eddies, students aren’t just learning facts; they’re becoming active agents of change, ready to shape a brighter future for themselves and others.
In the spirit of reconciliation, St Edmund’s College acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
