The Resilience Project

At St Edmund’s, student wellbeing and formation are at the heart of everything we do.

As part of our holistic approach to education, we are proud to deliver The Resilience Project, an evidence-based wellbeing program that supports students to build resilience, enhance mental health, and foster happiness.

The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging lessons and resources that provide students with practical strategies to strengthen their mental health and overall wellbeing. Through the key principles of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM), students learn simple, everyday practices that promote positive emotions, healthy relationships and a sense of purpose.

Integrated into the Eddies Men Can (EMC) Student Formation Program

The Resilience Project is a key component of our Eddies Men Can (EMC) Student Formation Program, supporting each boy’s personal, social and emotional growth throughout his time at the College. Embedded within a dedicated, timetabled curriculum, the program provides ongoing opportunities for students to explore and strengthen wellbeing concepts, not as a one-off presentation, but as a continual journey of growth and reflection.

Each year level focuses on specific themes and development goals designed to shape boys into confident, compassionate and resilient young men who embody the values of gratitude, empathy and mindfulness in everyday life.

The Benefits for Students

Through participation in The Resilience Project, your son will:

  • Develop self-awareness and emotional literacy, learning to understand and manage his emotions effectively.
  • Build resilience and a growth mindset, empowering him to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
  • Strengthen his empathy and gratitude, enhancing relationships and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Cultivate mindfulness practices that support focus, calm and overall mental health.

At St Edmund’s College, we believe that developing these lifelong wellbeing habits is as important as academic success. The Resilience Project equips our young men with the skills and mindset to thrive both at school and in life.

The Student Formation Journey

In the spirit of reconciliation, St Edmund’s College acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
