Classroom Teachers

The Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and disciplined learning environment that gives authentic witness to the four Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Touchstones of Liberating Education, Justice and Solidarity, Gospel Spirituality and Inclusive Community, both formally and informally, in the classroom, during co-curricular activities and when interacting with students. In this way, each student will be challenged to grow in knowledge, faith and maturity according to his potential.
Inclusive Education Teacher
The Inclusive Education Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and disciplined learning environment that gives authentic witness to the four Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Touchstones of Liberating Education, Justice and Solidarity, Gospel Spirituality and Inclusive Community, both formally and informally, in the classroom, during co-curricular activities and when interacting with students. In this way each student will be challenged to grow in knowledge, faith and maturity according to his potential.
The Inclusive Education Teacher will case-manage students identified with disability and learning disability in a designated Year level, communicate with parents and teachers about any adjustments, particular issues for individual students, and seek parental permission for any changes to student circumstances and routines surrounding student learning, for the purposes of optimising student inclusion in accessing the curriculum. As a member of the Inclusive Education Team the Inclusive Education Teacher will participate in whole school management of strategies to successfully cater for diversity in Years 5 to 12.
Sports Coaches

St Edmund’s College is seeking applicants for coaches experienced or eager to learn. These roles form part of our College Co-Curricular Volunteer Program. Appointed coaches will receive a Co-Curricular Volunteer Payment. The position will report directly to the Sport Coordinator, the Director of Sport, and the Assistant Principal Activities. As Co-Curricular Volunteers, appointees will work collaboratively with other coaches, teachers and the College community to promote and foster a safe, learning environment for the development of sport at the College. Our College sport teams compete in the Brisbane-wide AIC school competition.
Director of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for expressing leadership that gives authentic witness to the four Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Touchstones of Liberating Education, Justice and Solidarity, Gospel Spirituality, and Inclusive Community. The fulfilment of their role is shaped and informed by the College’s Strategic Directions and Priorities and Annual Improvement Plan Goals. They are a member of a leadership team responsible for providing a contemporary, stimulating, safe and supportive learning environment that caters for the educational needs of all St Edmund’s College students.
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for shaping and sustaining a positive, equitable and high-performing workplace culture across the College. This position oversees all HR functions - including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management and professional development - to ensure the College attracts, develops and retains exceptional staff who support the St Edmund’s College mission and values.
Grounds & Maintenance Officer
The Grounds & Maintenance Officer will work collaboratively as part of a team responsible for the maintenance of College property, plant and resources.
- Maintain lawns, trees, landscaped areas, sporting fields, courtyards, pathways and other external areas throughout the College
- Remove litter, leaves, fallen branches and other debris from grounds, sporting areas, car parks and external walkways
- Ensure grounds and external areas are maintained to minimise risks to students, staff, visitors and contractors.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including ride-on mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, brush cutters, blowers, irrigation systems and other relevant machinery, in accordance with training and safety requirements.
- Assist with seasonal groundskeeping activities and prepare outdoor areas for school terms, holidays, special events including line marking and maintenance of sporting fields
- Respond to a wide range of maintenance requests, work orders, inspections and repairs to grounds, buildings, fittings, plant and equipment to maintain an appropriate level of functionality and safety
- Maintain accurate records of relevant maintenance activities and equipment servicing where required
- Identify and report and identified incomplete work, recurring defects, hazards, asset deterioration and general maintenance issues
- Ensure tools, spare parts, consumables and maintenance materials are stored appropriately and shortages are reported along with ensuring equipment remains in good repair
- Supervise external contractors where necessary
- Attend to College deliveries, pick up and/or deliver bulky items to campus sites and outside agencies
- Assist with transfer of College vehicles (cars and buses) for servicing and inspections along with cleaning of vehicles
- Ensure College facilities are presentable for co-curricular activities and community events
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of facilities for assemblies, sporting events, College liturgies, ceremonies, parent functions and other school activities.
- Set up and pack down of furniture, seating, signage, barriers, equipment and other event infrastructure as directed.
- Respond to reasonable urgent maintenance requests that affect the safety, security or operation of the College.
- Assist with moving equipment and materials between College buildings and storage areas.
- Comply with the College’s work Health and Safety Policy, safe work procedures, instructions and rules, particularly in the correct use of equipment
