Celtic Football Club Partnership
St Edmund’s College is proud to partner with Celtic Football Club, connecting our students and coaches with one of the world’s most recognised and historic football clubs.
The partnership creates exciting opportunities for aspiring footballers at St Edmund’s to access specialist coaching, player development programs and international football experiences, while also supporting the ongoing development of our College coaching staff.
For our students, it means greater access to high-quality football development and the opportunity to experience the standards, philosophy and culture of an internationally recognised professional club.

A SHARED HISTORY
There is a special connection between St Edmund’s College and Celtic FC that extends beyond sport.
Founded in Glasgow in 1887, Celtic has strong roots in the Irish Catholic community and was established with a commitment to supporting those in need and creating opportunities for others.
St Edmund’s shares its own proud Catholic and Edmund Rice tradition, built upon the importance of community, inclusion and providing young people with opportunities to become the best version of themselves.
While separated by thousands of kilometres, these shared values provide a meaningful foundation for our partnership.
MORE THAN A GAME
At St Edmund’s, sport is about more than results. It provides an environment where young men can develop confidence, resilience, discipline, teamwork and a strong sense of belonging.
Our partnership with Celtic FC brings an exciting global dimension to that experience. Celtic has a long association with Australian football, with some of Australia’s most recognised players having represented the Club, including Mark Viduka, Scott McDonald, Tom Rogic and Aaron Mooy.
Through this partnership, that connection with Australian football continues – now with St Edmund’s College proudly becoming part of the story.
Our students will have opportunities to learn from an internationally recognised football organisation, broaden their understanding of the game and discover where their passion, commitment and ability could take them.
From Eddies to the world – creating opportunities through football.
In the spirit of reconciliation, St Edmund’s College acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
