Important COVID-19 Update - 26 March 2020

Dear St Edmund’s Community,

This morning the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced that Term 1 face to face classes will finish for all students in Queensland this Friday 27 March.

For the last few weeks the College has endeavoured to maintain as normal a routine as possible. This has been due largely to the dedication of our staff as well as the positive attitude and cooperation of our young Eddies men. I would like to thank the St Edmund’s staff for their care and commitment and I commend the resilience of our young men.

Next week the focus for staff will be continued preparations for the implementation of the College Learning Continuation Plan (LCP). More detailed information for parents and caregivers regarding the LCP will be forthcoming.

Those families who are unable to find suitable supervision for their son/s can register to send him/them to school between 8.30am and 2:45pm from Monday 30 March to Thursday 3 April.

Please email to register by 7:30am Monday30 March.

When registering please make sure to include:

  • Student name/s
  • House
  • year level/s
  • days attending

This is an important aspect of our Child Protection responsibilities and I ask all parents/caregivers to ensure notification of attendance is given.

There is no need to advise the College if you are choosing to keep your son(s) at home during this period. Students who attend will be engaged in an alternative program over the course of this week.

While canteen facilities will be available, they will be limited.

I wish everyone well over the coming weeks and I thank each of you for your ongoing support.

They can because they see they can.
