Transition to Senior


Because Year 10 is a significant year of change, during the second semester of Year 10 students have an opportunity to study transitional subjects to ‘experience’ senior subjects and coursework to help them prepare for the senior school.

 

Year 11 – Learning to Succeed Conference


At the commencement of senior, all Year 11 students complete the Learning to Succeed Conference held at the University of Queensland – Ipswich Campus.

 

Option for University Subjects – whilst in Year 12

 

 

OP (Overall Position) Pathway – suitable for students seeking tertiary entry as their preferred post-school option. Students complete: Religion & Ethics (OR Study of Religion), English and Mathematics A (or B) and elective subjects so a minimum of 5 Authority Subjects are completed [although 6 subjects are recommended]

IP(Integrated Program) Pathway – suitable for students who want to develop their skills, attitudes and knowledge to make them readily employable in the workforce after Year 12. Students complete: Religion & Ethics, English, Mathematics A, Work Practices Certificate and 2 elective courses (of which one must be a Certificate Course)

 

EP (Employment Program) Pathway – suitable for students who wish to be engaged in vocational education and training and maximize their participation in the workforce whilst, completing their senior studies. Students elect this pathway if they are seeking a school based traineeship or apprenticeship.

 

Students complete: Religion & Ethics, English Communication & Pre-Vocational Mathematics as well as 2 elective courses: Building & Construction (Certificate I), Business (Certificate I & II), Community Recreation (Certificate II), Engineering & Manufacturing (Certificate I or, Information Technology (Certificate II).
