St Edmund’s College, Ipswich has since 1892 grown into one of Queensland’s most significant Catholic boys’ Colleges. In the process, generations of young men have achieved personal success socially, physically and academically in a Christian culture. The St Edmund’s College Foundation has been established to assist the College Board in raising funds to maintain and improve the facilities and operations of St Edmund’s College in accordance with the Master Plan, and to develop the broader interests of the College community.
The Foundation is an avenue through which the entire College community – current parents, past parents, old boys, members of staff, friends and supporters – can support the College’s aim to create a pathway of growth for its students. This support will ensure that St Edmund’s students continue to become those people who make a difference in society, in whatever capacity they live and work.

The Foundation will conduct annual fund raising events such as the Foundation Gala Dinner and the Eddies Race Day. These events
will maintain and rekindle relationships created at the College while raising much needed funds for the College. The inaugural Gala Dinner was held in May 2008 with special guest Mr. Wayne Bennett and over 350 guests attending and ensuring a great success. The inaugural Eddies Race Day was held at the Ipswich Turf Club in May 2009 with over 400 people attending.
In 2012 the Annual Dinner will be held on 3rd March and the Race Day on the 5th May. Information on the Annual Dinner can be found here or by contacting Kath Creedy or the College reception. More information on the Race Day is available here.
The Foundation launched The Edmund Rice Building Appeal in June 2010 with funds raised going towards the restoration and renovation of the Edmund Rice Building (Built 1893). The total cost of the project will be in the order of $1.5 million. The St Edmund’s College Foundation is seeking to raise a minimum of $500,000 in donations to assist the College in meeting this cost. The balance of the funds required will be raised by the College through bank debt.
