St Edmund’s College, Ipswich has grown, over the past one hundred and fifteen years, into one of Queensland’s most significant Catholic boys’ Colleges. In the process, generations of young men have achieved personal success socially, physically and academically in a Christian culture.

The St Edmund’s College Foundation has been established to assist the College Board in raising funds to maintain and improve the facilities and operations of St Edmund’s College in accordance with the Master Plan, and to develop the broader interests of the College Community.

The Foundation is an avenue through which the entire College community – current parents, past parents, old boys, members of staff, friends and supporters – can support the College’s aim to create a pathway of growth for its students. This support will ensure that St Edmund’s students continue to become those people who make a difference in society, in whatever capacity they live and work.

Essentially, the SEC Foundation is divided into four areas of support: Membership, Donor Program, Corporate Sponsorship Program and the Bequest Program.

Membership
The Foundation has adopted the motto of “keeping the tradition alive”. When the Christian Brothers College Ipswich was opened in 1892 our forefathers would have had little idea of what they where creating. In 115 years the College has had many academic, sporting and cultural achievements. But it is the tradition of everlasting School Spirit openly displayed by all who have been involved with the college, be it as a student, parent, staff member or supporter, that is unique to St Edmunds. By becoming a Member of the Foundation you will ensure that the tradition of St Edmunds continues and you will be able to maintain or rekindle relationships created at St Edmund’s.

Donor Program
If our boys are to surpass the expected, we must offer them the best facilities available. The Donor Program, through specific campaigns, will assist in financing major capital works at the college. This involves donors pledging cash sums that can be paid annually over an agreed period and would be directed to a specific building project. By supporting the Foundation, you are investing in the future education of St Edmund students of today and tomorrow. You are invited to make a contribution appropriate to your means.

Corporate Sponsorship Program
To enhance relationships between sponsors and the college community, mutually beneficial business arrangements between a sponsor and the Foundation will be offered. Opportunities will be available to sponsor promotional items such as: publications, web site, correspondence material and naming rights for an event. Sponsors will be considered key partners of the Foundation.

Bequest Program
Bequests to St Edmunds create a legacy for generations to come and ensure that your association with St Edmunds lives on. A bequest is a provision in your will that directs the executor to dispense particular funds or property (eg. Land, shares) to a nominated beneficiary. A bequest can be made to the St Edmund’s College Foundation Trust for a specific project of the donor’s choice (eg. Fund a bursary for needy students or a scholarship).
