Students who are interested in developing: 1. Communication Skills 2. Cooperation Skills 3. Research Skills are encouraged to join Debating. The year will begin with a training day, where beginners will be assisted in acquiring debating skills and experienced debaters have the opportunity to refine skills they have devoloped. All debaters are entered into the QDU competition, consisting of 4 debates over 12 weeks in total, once a fortnight during Semester 1. Fixtures take place on Friday nights. From Year 10 onwards, students are entered into the GPA and/or QDU competitions. Debaters are coached by members of the College staff and old boys, with meetings taking place during some lunch breaks and occasionally after school. A College bus is available to transport boys to away debates. Parents' support is greatly appreciated, as members of the audience and moral support.
